Lorber HT Digital acquires, co-produces and markets specialty documentary programming for targeted interest groups via digital delivery, direct-to-consumer DVDs, and traditional retail video distribution as well as to the educational market. Its content specialty is “transformative” programming centered in the domains of spirituality, consciousness, culture and the frontiers of science. Under its distribution label Alive Mind, Lorber HT Digital seeks "aha! response” content with an intellectual pedigree for critical thinkers and enlightened believers alike.

Lorber HT Digital utilizes the Internet as the optimal means of connecting geographically and demographically dispersed audiences with common interests. Alive Mind’s program-centric web strategy customizes a wide range of viral marketing tools and grass roots tactics to direct-deliver, by DVD or download, the compelling programming that targeted affinity based communities really want. As for traditional DVD sales, its arrangement with major distributor Koch Entertainment propagates its releases for point-of-purchase through all brick and mortar outlets too.

In addition to its Alive Mind label, Lorber HT Digital also partners with producers of non-fiction television and feature documentaries that appeal to wider audiences. The company seeks distinguished projects that tell captivating stories, focus on unique individuals, and engage universal themes. It represents such programs worldwide for traditional television and DVD licensing as well as co-production financing.

Lorber HT Digital continues to operate its non-fiction producing arm, Hidden Treasures Productions, whose recent films include the award-winning documentaries Trust Me, and Secrets of Mary Magdalene. Its latest documentary special, Secrets of the Soul will be released in January 2008.

Initial releases to include landmark series “Women and Spirituality”

New York, NY (December 18, 2007) – Lorber HT Digital, a DVD distribution company formed earlier this year by media entrepreneur Richard Lorber, announces today the inception of its new DVD label, Alive Mind (www.alivemindmedia.com).

Alive Mind will release specialty documentary programming in the areas of enlightened consciousness, secular spirituality, cultural change, and the frontiers of science. “Our goal is to provide the best nonfiction media from the world’s leading filmmaking thinkers—content that delivers the “aha” response of transformative experience. Our collection of titles will engage the power of humanist values in an entertaining way” commented Richard Lorber.

Alive Mind’s first acquisition is the acclaimed series Women and Spirituality. First time on DVD, it is a stunning and poetic work comprised of three one-hour programs: Goddess Remembered, The Burning Times and Full Circle. Created by Donna Read, this multi-award winner is the definitive series addressing mythological, historical and contemporary political manifestations of feminine spirituality. “A top seller when only on VHS, we expect it to be eagerly embraced by a wide new audience as the lead title in our spirituality line,” said Elizabeth Sheldon, VP of acquisitions. Licensed from the National Film Board of Canada it is scheduled for DVD release direct from Alive Mind online (www.alivemindmedia.com) in January 2008 ($34.98). Also acquired from the NFB of Canada were the documentaries Mystical Brain and Forgiveness.

In addition to the Women and Spirituality series, Alive Mind has already begun actively marketing direct to consumers its first release, Secrets of the Soul. Just in time for the holiday season, this two-part documentary takes an all-encompassing look at the search for the soul, from the faithful who seek to touch it to the scientists who investigate its reality. Secrets of the Soul was an in-house production from Lorber HT Digital’s merger partner Hidden Treasures Productions. It is currently available for $19.98 exclusively from Alive Mind’s “Secrets of the Soul” website (secretsofthesoul.net).
